STUDENTS
Weight Certification for UHS wrestlers will be this Monday, November 9,
at 5PM in the Athletic Training room.  Wrestlers must make sure they are
hydrated enough for testing.

ATTENTION SOPHOMORES!
Wednesday, November 18 is your day for PIZZA WITH THE PRINCIPAL!
Sign up in the main office for free pizza and drink with Mrs. Massanari.

Girls open gym times will be on Mondays from 3PM-5PM and Wednesdays from
6PM to
8PM.

Attention Skiers & Snow Boarders: The first meeting of the UHS Ski & Snow
Board Club will be held on Thursday, November 12th after school in Mod 9.
We will be electing officers and planning our trips for the year. If you
are interested in the club but cannot attend, see Mrs. Snyder in Mod 9.

"Seniors who want college application materials mailed out by
Thanksgiving are reminded to bring their release forms, envelopes and
stamps to their counselors no later than Wednesday, Nov. 11th to allow for
the 10-day processing period.  Nov. 13th is the Counseling Center deadline
for applications with a Dec. 1st postmark deadline, and Dec. 1st is the
Counseling Center deadline for applications with a Dec. 15th postmark
deadline."

Left over Halloween candy is being collected by the Interact Club in the
Main Office. The candy will be donated to local food cupboards .

The Animal Rights Club will have their first Bake Sale this Friday, Nov.
6th. All 3 lunches
Proceeds will go to help homeless Cats & Dogs !
The Animal Rights Club will meet Thursday  after school to discuss the
Bake Sale !

Attention all new and returning swimmers & divers: There is a parents
meeting on Monday, November 9th at 7pm in the Auditorium.  Please make
sure that at least one of your parents is there.  If you did NOT receive
an orange informational sheet during homeroom last week, please see Ms.
Carey in room A140 ASAP.  Continue to check the team website for updates.

Attention all Les Mis cast members.  There will be  a full cast meeting
today at 3:00 in the choir room.  Please see Mr. Throne if you are unable
to attend.

There will be a mandatory Indoor Track and Field meeting on Wednesday, Nov
11th in the LGI from 2:30 - 3:00.

STUDENT DRIVER ADVISORY
This is the breeding time for Whitetail Deer. Translated, this means that
more deer will jump in front of cars in this 1st week of November than any
other time of the year. Combine this with WET LEAVES and you have
dangerous driving conditions.  BE SAFE, DRIVE DEFENSIVELY!!

Students:   Is there a special UHS teacher who has touched your life?
The Citadel Heart of Learning Award committee is seeking nominations from
students who would like to honor a teacher.  If you would like to nominate
a special teacher for this award, go to www.CitadelHeartofLearning.com.
The deadline to submit a nomination is December 31, 2009.

The Annual UHS Art Gala is being held on Friday and Saturday, November the
13th, 7-9pm, and 14th, 10-3pm. Student volunteers are needed to set-up
after school on Thursday, serve refreshments and wrap gift items on Friday
evening and Saturday and help tear down in the afternoon on Saturday. This
is a FUN way to earn volunteer hours! Sign-up in the main office.

Unionville Believers in Christ is doing Operation Christmas Child again
this year. It is a charity that asks participants to fill shoeboxes with
gifts, letters, and a small shipping fee. These boxes will then be shipped
to needy children throughout the world so that they too can have presents
on Christmas. It is sponsored by the Christian organization, Samaritan's
Purse. If you are interested in this charity, you can pick up information
sheets at the office. Hurry! Gifts should be turned into room B138 before
Nov. 16th. If you have any questions feel free to contact Tyler Reese.

INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY- IMMEDIATE OPENING!
The Southern Chester County Chamber of Commerce has an internship position
for seniors or juniors interested in business practices experience. The
position is available to one student per semester for two afternoons per
week. Please see Ms. Vaughn in the Career Center ASAP for more information.

LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITY
We are looking for a sophomore ambassador to represent UHS at the Hugh
O’Brian Youth Leadership Conference. This 4 day leadership seminar will
give one sophomore an opportunity to interact with nationally and
internationally renowned leaders in business, government and education.
The deadline to submit an application to Mrs. Lyles is November 16, 2009.
